DARE is Adam's first feature film. It is the best high school movie you may have never seen.
Adam made his feature film directorial debut with DARE, an official selection and Grand Jury Prize Nominee of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival in the Dramatic Competition Category. DARE was acquired by Image Entertainment for North America, released theatrically that year, and distrubuted in dozens of international markets. It features Emmy Rossum, Zach Gilford, the first starring role of Academy Award nominee Rooney Mara, Alan Cumming, Ana Gasteyer, and Sandra Bernhard, and was produced by Mary Jane Skalski (WIN WIN, THE STATION AGENT, THE VISITOR, FUR).
Adam served as an advisor at the Sundance Labs, and has guest lectured on directing at Columbia University and various high schools. When between projects he is an adjunct professor at USC’s famed graduate School of Cinematic Arts teaching directing.
Pursuing a deep interest in new media content creation, Adam has directed viral videos with over a million hits on Youtube, and recently directed the pilot for UNCABARET, an unscripted series produced for Amazon.com about the legendary, Los Angeles based alternative comedy show.
A magna cum laude graduate of Emory University, Adam completed his MFA with honors at Columbia University's Graduate School of the Arts Film Division where he directed several award winning short films, and won three prestigious prizes including the James Bridges Award, one of the highest honors in the Columbia Film Division. Adam currently lives in Los Angeles.
